Salutation professor Rodwell,
When writing my Lab report analysis essay I was able to exercise two course learning outcomes. The first course learning outcome I was able to improve on was to develop and engage in the collaborative and social aspects of writing processes. The second course learning outcome I improved on was to formulate and articulate a stance through and in your writing.
The first course learning outcome I improved on was to develop and engage in the collaborative and social aspects of writing processes. Reading peer reviews of my own work allows me to see that my writing is not perfect and needs improvement. I sit back and read each peer review and look for similarities and good points that I may agree with. Finally after analyzing the peer review I choose whether not to change my paper. In this essay I chose to use my peers’ advice and strengthen my paper accordingly.
The second course learning outcome I was able to improve on was to formulate and articulate a stance through and in your writing. I did this by reading the three different lab reports and analyzing what each did good and what each did bad. After analyzing each report I came up with a conclusion on which reports presented their information the best vs which reports presented their information poorly. Then I used evidence to support my stance on why lab report #2 was written the best using compare and contrast.
These course learning outcomes strengthen my writing skills by allowing me to be hard on myself and listen to my peers’ reviews of my work and also how to make a stance and support my stance.
Sincerely,
Brandon Valentin
