Product Review Essay: IPhone 11

Phones have become an item that people use in their everyday lives. In this essay I am going to review the iPhone 11 from Apple and determine whether or not the phone fulfills its purpose. The iPhone 11 is enjoyable and fulfills its purpose because this iPhone has special functions, the structure of the phone is comfortable, and is high quality. 

The iPhone 11 is a recent iPhone released by Apple in 2019 extending their long line of cellular devices. This iPhone has a height of 5.94 inches, width of 2.98 inches, and depth of .33 inches. The screen is about 6.1 inches diagonal. The weight of the phone is 6.84 ounces. This phone carries 128 gigabytes of storage. Also the iPhone 11 can take video in 4k and photos using 12 MP resolution output. Finally the usage time on the iPhone 11 is 26 hours. 

IPhone 11 has special functions like taking ultra wide photos, surviving drops and water better, and unlocking with a Face ID. The iPhone 11 has a new lens that lets you capture up to four times the screen space as on a normal iPhone camera. This means you can take big beautiful photos of places you go to and family photos that everyone may not fit in. Moreover, the iPhone 11 uses a new stronger glass that can survive common drops from a few feet and not crack. Additionally, it is now water-resistant for about half an hour in shallow waters. This is convenient for trips to the beach or pool. The iPhone 11 comes with an improved version of Face ID. You can now easily unlock your phone using Face ID with the phone laying flat. So if you receive a message and you tap on it to wake the iPhone, a glance at it will unlock your phone and show you the message. 

The structure of the iPhone 11 is well made for my personal use. The size of the phone is perfect to hold it with one hand without feeling like you will drop it. In addition, the iPhone is thin and has rounded corners within a standard rectangle shape which feels comfortable to hold for long term use. The two main camera lenses are visible on the top left of the back side of the phone which is convenient placement for when holding the phone for a picture you do not risk blocking the lenses with your fingers. One major feature I dislike about the iPhone 11 is that it does not have a headphone jack. This is extremely inconvenient and should be considered before buying because in order to be able to listen to videos or music quietly you need to purchase headphones made specifically for that phone or bluetooth headphones.

The high quality of the iPhone 11 comes from the high camera quality and strong battery. The iPhone 11 raises the bar when it comes to taking videos or photos on your cellular devices. For example, this phone takes amazing  pictures and is good to use when taking family photos or pictures of beautiful scenery. No need to buy a thousand dollar camera for family events. Furthermore, the battery life on this phone lasts all day long when fully charged, which is great for when you travel and do not find a place to charge your phone. 

All in all, I analyzed that the iPhone 11 fulfills its purpose of being a high quality, comfortable phone with special functions for everyday use. Although this phone has no headphone jack which is a big inconvenience for those who use their phone in quiet places. Still, that does not take away from the amazing photos, the Face ID that makes your phone easy to access, and the curved rectangular shape to the phone. I recommend the iPhone 11 because this phone based on the three criteria I studied shows that the phone will be able to compete with upcoming phones for years to come.
